Golden Wolves Tour

Cash Savage & The Last Drinks announce Golden Wolves Tour

After a massive year in which Cash Savage and the Last Drinks’ stunning second LP The Hypnotiser received rave reviews from some of the most highly respected music journalists, websites and radio stations, the band show no signs of slowing, today announcing their first tour for 2014.

The Hypnotiser – an incredible work of depth, sorrow, love and tragedy – racked up an EG Award Song Of The Year nomination [for lead single ‘I’m In Love’], was one of the Top 25 Highly Recommended albums on the Coopers AMP Music Prize list and featured prominently in Top 10 Albums of 2013 lists from the country’s leading music journalists across numerous publications including the Herald Sun, The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.

PBS FM [where the album was an early feature album] listed The Hypnotiser in their Top 10 for 2013, and longtime lovers of the band Mess+Noise marked ‘I’m In Love’ as one of 2013’s Top Tracks, while their often hard-to-impress readers put the album in their Top 50 for the year.

In the weeks leading up to the release The Hypnotiser had already caught the attention of community radio in Cash’s home town Melbourne, making RRR’s Album Of the Week, PBS’s Feature Album and securing a position on SYN FM’s Sweet 16 with album track ‘Let Go’. Nationally, support was strong across community radio programming, with a Feature Album also awarded by 2SER.
Brisbane’s 4zzz highlighted the record as a ‘Music Department Pick’ and triple j’s Roots ‘N All, Radio National and ABC Radio all came calling for interviews, while the album’s title track held steady on the AIRIT Great Southern Charts’ Top 10 for weeks, arriving at #1 on the Now Charts.

The Australian World Music Expo selected Cash Savage And The Last Drinks to showcase for global booking agents in November, where the band performed a firestorm show in front of a capacity crowd days before Cash released a highly sought-after vinyl edition of The Hypnotiser.
Kicking off 2014 with appearances before a burgeoning fanbase in Queensland [one headline show, and as part of the Little Day In alongside Gay Paris, Stella Angelico & The Switch and others], Cash Savage & The Last Drinks return to many of the venues that have loved them from the start, stopping in at The Adelaide Fringe and Kyneton Music festivals along the way, before sharing the stage with Dr John, Elvis Costello, John Mayer, Gary Clark Jr, Steve Earle and Michael Franti at the Deni Blues & Roots Festival. Any fans of the album who are yet to see Cash Savage & The Last Drinks live on stage should prepare themselves for the next-level ferocity and unashamed power of their electric, moving performances.

The second album from Melbourne’s Cash Savage and the Last Drinks is an impressive and immensely moving record. Cash’s profounding affecting and vivid storytelling is matched with soulful musical arrangements that span country, blues and gospel styles. The instrumental range of the record is broader than before, with strings, horn section and a choir soaring in harmony with the band.
